Our Mission
To Equip Young Girls In Our Community With The Proper Tools To Overcome Bullying, Peer Pressure, Low Self-Esteem, And The Pressures Of Growing Up Through Positive Reinforcement And Dance.
From performing at Denver Nuggets games to winning national competitions, our girls are learning leadership, discipline, and self-love through hip-hop, majorette, and more. 💃🏽👑 Founded by passionate coaches and now a proud nonprofit, we’re keeping girls active, inspired, and unstoppable.
At Platinum Divaz Dance Company, we believe dance can change lives—and we’re proving it every day.
Based in Aurora, Colorado, our nonprofit serves girls ages 5 to 21, using dance as a powerful tool to build confidence, leadership, and emotional resilience. But make no mistake: we are so much more than a dance team. We’re a movement—a sisterhood—lifting up the next generation of Black and Brown girls to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
Since 2013, Platinum Divaz Dance Co. has been empowering young girls through the power of dance, mentorship, and community. Founded by passionate coaches Chiniqua and Stanisha—who got their start leading cheer squads in Aurora and Denver—we created this program as a safe, uplifting space for girls to grow, express themselves, and build confidence.
Our Story
Platinum Divaz Dance Co was founded out of a desire to create something more meaningful for young girls in our community. At the time, we were cheer coaches for two separate football leagues, and we noticed that while the girls worked hard to support the boys, there was very little support, recognition, or opportunity given back to them. We knew they deserved more — more attention, more development, and more opportunities to shine.
With that vision in mind, we branched off and started our own organization in 2013.
We originally began as a step team, creating a space where girls could build confidence, discipline, and teamwork. However, we quickly realized there were limited opportunities and events available for stepping. Seeing the strong connection between stepping and dance, we evolved into a hip-hop dance program, expanding performance and competition opportunities for our athletes.
In 2016, we introduced Majorette dance, continuing to grow our program and expose dancers to new styles and performance experiences. As our organization matured, we began incorporating more structured technical training, including jazz and lyrical dance in 2023, allowing our dancers to develop strong foundational technique alongside performance skills.
Over time, our purpose grew beyond dance.
We recognized that many of our youth needed more than just a creative outlet — they needed mentorship, encouragement, stability, and a supportive village. Many of our dancers were navigating personal challenges, and our program naturally became a safe space filled with love, guidance, and positive adult role models.
Platinum Divaz Dance Co became more than a dance team. It became a family.
Our mission shifted from simply coaching dance to mentoring young people, helping keep them engaged in positive activities, off the streets, and focused on building confidence, character, and self-worth. We emphasize mental wellness, personal growth, leadership, and accountability alongside dance training.
Community service also became a cornerstone of our program. We believe in teaching our dancers the importance of giving back, serving others, and understanding the impact they can make within their community. Through service projects and outreach efforts, our dancers learn compassion, responsibility, and pride in making a difference.
Today, Platinum Divaz Dance Co stands as a program built on passion, purpose, and empowerment. Our goal is to ensure every child who walks through our doors knows they are loved, valued, important, and capable of becoming the best version of themselves — both on and off the dance floor.
What started with cheer and step has blossomed into a dynamic dance company that now includes hip-hop and majorette styles. In 2020, we officially became a nonprofit and opened the doors to our very own studio—a place where dreams take center stage.

They’ll perform at exciting events like local parades and Denver Nuggets games, travel across the country for competitions, and even meet inspirational celebrities. Our girls have brought home countless trophies—and hearts—with their talent, spirit, and determination.
